Students spent some time in December comparing different "Gingerbread" stories. We looked closely at the gingerbread character in each story to compare and contrast. Students ended up choosing their favorite story to write an opinion piece.

New Year's Resolution
The students learned what a "resolution," was by reading a wonderful book called, Squirrel's New Years Resolution by Pat Miller. Some students even knew what a resolution was from taking with their parents. Students wrote their New Year's Resolution and decorated their writing in a New Year's Theme:) Your child will be taking these home soon! (Too cute not to share!)
We walked to the Senior Center with our 7th grade Prayer Partners to sing to the Seniors. At the end, all the first graders gathered around the piano and sang, "Show Me the Way." I think I may have seen a few tears- It was so beautiful!
We had so much fun making our Jesus craft, listening to a story, having a treat and playing Corn Hole. Thanks to all the Moms who planned, helped or sent in things so we could have fun celebrating the birth of Jesus:)
